CVD Update in Primary Care

Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria

Are you a Primary Care professional already working with CVD in your clinic?  Do you want to refresh your knowledge and get up to date with new developments?  If so CVD update is for you. This session is suitable for GPs and Nurses.

Course Aim

This course aims to ensure you are up to date with the latest guidance and process in CVD management in Primary Care.  We commence with primary prevention and lead gradually through the various areas of CVD to include whatever is new and relevant.  Please bring along your questions and queries, as we will aim to answer these during the day.

Course Content

Below is an example, as the content will always reflect bang up to date information, which is pertinent to Primary Care.

  • Primary Prevention – What’s new? Including hypertension and NHS Health Checks
  • Acute Coronary Syndrome and Chest Pain assessment – the whole new chest pain assessment approach from NICE
  • Stroke prevention and management – Anticoagulation and new drugs demystified
  • Heart Failure – What is new
  • Diabetes – What’s new in Drugs and management
  • Lipid Management

This course is free of charge to all those from Stockport General Practices. For all other delegates the cost is £100 per person
