Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria
GPs, Practice Nurses and Nurse Practitioners already providing contraceptive services
Course Aim
This course aims to provide an update on contraception, sexual health and termination of pregnancy (including referral pathways) for existing practitioners in contraception. This study day is split into two separate sessions. Delegates can attend both or either session depending on their individual need.
Course Content
Upon successful completion of this course delegates will:
- Have updated their existing knowledge of contraceptive methods
- Have updated knowledge on Emergency Contraception
- Gain new knowledge of developments in contraception
- Have an update on legal position, referral pathways & methods regarding Termination of Pregnancy
- Be more confident with dealing with complex cases
- Have had the opportunity to discuss a range of case studies
Course Duration
1 Day (two sessions)
Trainer/Facilitator
- Dr Nabanita Ghosh (FRCOG), Speciality Doctor and Community gynaecologist, Locala Sexual Health, Choices Centre, Stockport
Date/Time/Venue
- Contraception Update (Update on Contraceptive methods), 10am – 12pm
- Termination of Pregnancy & Emergency Contraception including Case Studies, 1pm – 3pm
These sessions will be carried out via a video conferencing platform, delegates will need a computer or smart phone to join, where possible they are encouraged to use a web camera to fully participate. All joining details and coaching will be available before the session.
