Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria
GPs, Nurse Practitioners and Practice Nurses who have undertaken the relevant contraceptive implant training (see previous page) and currently fit contraceptive implants.
Course Aim
This training will provide an update of the knowledge and skills required to safely fit contraceptive implants utilising current guidance, best practice and following the Deep Implant Referral Pathway.
Learning Objectives
This session will provide an update and practical tips for current implant fitters and will cover:
- New guidance from MSD and Faculty of SRH on change of insertion site
- Practical tips on insertion and removal of implant
- Complications from implant insertion, removal and pulmonary migration
- Investigations and referral pathway for Impalpable Implants
- Case discussions
