Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria
All clinical staff in General Practice as well as non-clinical staff with roles involving care navigation, signposting, social prescribing, home visits and similar.
Course Aim
This course aims to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to effectively engage with individuals and undertake effective alcohol awareness brief interventions to encourage behaviour change and to motivate individuals to consider making changes with regards to their alcohol consumption. The course content includes:
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course delegates will:
- Understand different levels of drinking and alcohol-related harm
- Be able to Identify and respond to different levels of drinking
- Have increased confidence in addressing alcohol issues
- Be able to provide effective alcohol brief interventions
- Be aware of the services available and how to refer

This session will be carried out via a video conferencing platform called Microsoft Teams, delegates will need a computer or smart phone to join, where possible they are encouraged to use a web camera to fully participate. All joining details will be available before the session.
