Immunisation & Vaccination – Nurse Associate – Childhood Immunisation Course (Video Conference)

Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria

This course is suitable for newly qualified Nurse Associates who have already completed the 3-day initial immunisation and vaccination course

Course Overview

Dr Baxter has developed a new one-day course that will provide you with the knowledge required to enable you to administer childhood immunisations following a competency assessment and agreement from your practice. The first session a pilot and is free of charge.

Course Content

This course will cover:

  • The Childhood immunisation schedule
  • Unscheduled childhood immunisations
  • Consent for children’s vaccinations
  • PSDs
  • Vaccination and the law
  • Review of infant, child and adolescent vaccines

Pre-Requisites

  • All delegates need to be up to date with their annual Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis training
  • Previous completion of the initial 3-day training

This session will be carried out via a video conferencing platform, delegates will need a computer or smart phone to join, where possible they are encouraged to use a web camera to fully participate. All joining details and coaching will be available before the session.
