GP Joint Injection Refresher Course

Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria

This session is for GPs who have already been trained to administer joint injections and who require an update (a refresher is required every three years).

Course Aim

This refresher programme will cover five of the most frequent joint injections in General Practice.  The groups will be kept to a maximum of ten delegates which will allow for group discussion of the wider aspects.

Course Content

Delegates attending this session will receive an individual information pack to take away. The session will include revision of:

  • Patient selection
  • Safety considerations
  • Inclusion/exclusion criteria
  • Patient information
  • CQC compliant consent recording
  • Surface and joint anatomy
  • Optimal procedure
  • Post-injection advice
  • Condition specific advice leaflets
  • Fee claims

Cost

The maximum cost for this training will be £210pp. This cost could be reduced if we receive a high number of bookings.
