General Practice Nurse (GPN) Next Steps Programme

Target Audience/Eligibility

This programme is open to NMC Registered Nurses and Nursing Associates who are newly qualified, or new to general practice and have completed the GPN Foundation Programme,  wishing to develop their skills and progress their career.

 

Course Detail

As part of the Primary Care Integrated Development Programme, the GPN Next Steps programme aims to develop the fundamental skills you need for practice. The programme will run for twelve weeks, after the completion of GPN Foundation. Topics Include:

  • Case studies Asthma
  • Case studies COPD
  • Frailty and End of Life
  • Infection Prevention Control/Sepsis
  • Interpretation of Blood Results
  • Male Health
  • Managing Multi-morbidities
  • Smoking Cessation
  • Spotting the Sick Child
  • Women’s Health (Advanced)

 

Date/Venue

The next cohort is scheduled to begin twelve weeks after completion of the GPN Foundation programme which runs for fifteen weeks starting in October 2025, you will automatically be enrolled onto this programme.
