1) DigiKnow Friends Workshop

Course Overview

This one hour session is an introduction to Digital inclusion:

  • What is it
  • Who is affected
  • Why are people affected
  • The impact it has on people

It will also look at the support on offer in Stockport through the DigiKnow network. All attendees will go away with a word document that highlights all of this great work so they can signpost people to organisations that can help them get online. This support could be training, access to data or access to devices and also discuss the digital champions training and highlight what this includes so people can also potentially sign up to that at the end.

Learning Outcomes

After this short introductory session delegates will be able to:

  • Understand what digital exclusion is including reflecting on your own use of digital.
  • Appreciate who may be offline or unable to use digital tools in Stockport – myth buster
  • Have the ability to list DigiKnow activities and signpost people if required
  • Have the confidence to support people in Stockport who are not able to benefit fully from digital.
  • Identify steps

2) DigiKnow Digital Champions – Introduction

Course Overview

This session is an introduction to Digital Champions, the following will be covered:

  • Identify essential digital skills for life and for work
  • Support learners with multiple learning platforms and digital training resources
  • Understand barriers to digital inclusion
  • Understand the importance of listening and its role within digital inclusion

Course Duration

  • 1) DigiKnow Friends Workshop – 1 hour
  • 2) DigiKnow Digital Champions – Introduction – 4 hours 30 minutes
