B12 Training

Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria

The course is aimed at Assistant Practitioners and Health Care Assistants working in general practice who have completed the HCA 3 day immunisation course.

Course Aim

The aim of this session is to promote high quality, efficient and safe practice to enable suitably trained Assistant Practitioners and Health Care Assistants to administer B12 injections in practice following completion of assessment and supervised practice.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand pernicious anemia
  •  Describe the factors that effect B12 absorption
  • Undertake the safe administration of B12 replacement therapy

This session will be carried out via a video conferencing platform called MS Teams, delegates will need a computer or smart phone to join, where possible they are encouraged to use a web camera to fully participate. All joining details and coaching will be available before the session

Cost

This training is free of charge for all those working in Stockport General Practices.
