Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) An Introduction – Online Training

Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria

This training is suitable for anyone working directly with children, young people, and families in Greater Manchester who wants to gain a better understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). It is relevant for professionals and organisations across Early Years settings, schools and educational institutions, primary care, adoption and fostering services, as well as other related services and roles.

Course Aim

This half-day session offers an introduction to FASD. It aims to adhere to the preferred UK FASD language guide and best practice in FASD training and is CPD accredited.

Course Content

  • Terminology pre and post the SIGN 156 Clinical Guideline and NICE FASD Quality standard.
  • Discussions regarding high-risk groups and how FASD can present across the lifespan
  • Look at how to get a diagnosis, associated issues, what can happen without support and mental capacity
  • Participants will be given information on where to learn more.
