Several Stockport practices participated in 2017. As is evident from the feedback above, there have been multiple benefits to practices from participating in the previous audit. The next NCDA will start data collection in 2019, with registration planned from Feb/ March. Practices are strongly encouraged to participate. Information around registration for this will be circulated as it become available.
The CRUK Facilitator for Manchester and Stockport, Steve Jones, can support Primary Care with anything related to improving prevention and early diagnosis of cancer. The role is fully funded by the charity, and as such, remains independent and without other agenda. The Facilitator programme has national coverage, meaning that it can share best-practice and the most up to date evidence base for improving patient outcomes.
Practices are encouraged to take up the offer of having Steve help you analyse your individual Practices cancer data and how it ‘performs’ in comparison to the rest of the CCG and nationally. Sessions can be delivered flexibly to accommodate a practices’ schedule and needs, typically taking around 30 minutes, but they can be adapted dependant on circumstances. This can be used as a basis to highlight if further support or resources may be beneficial. Contact : Steve.Jones@cancer.org.uk
