Across the 10 CCG’s, every GM Practice is able to access the GM Workforce Bank through the platform provider Lantum. The workforce bank includes locum GP’s, Nurse’s and from 19th October Administrative / Reception staff.
What else do I need to know?
Costs:
From 1st October, Lantum will no longer be subsidised by Greater Manchester Health and Care Partnership. You will still be able to use Lantum in exactly the same way after this date to book local locums at a reduced rate, manage payments, pensions and all associated paperwork* with our bespoke Subscription Model.
For £49 a month, you will be able to:
If you don’t choose to move to the Subscription Model, you will automatically be moved to our flexible Pay as You Go option. There’s no monthly cost with this model, however, you will pay a rate of 7% to book locums from Lantum’s network, and will lose access to your bank, as well as features such as direct communication with staff.
Regardless of the model you choose, Lantum will continue to offer Rocketpay for free. It’s the only way to pay your clinicians the next day without having to worry about your own cash flow. We will also continue to cover the cost of any DBS applications for GPs who want to work with you through Lantum.

Training: all admin staff have completed HMR Academy’s Reception training and are DBS checked (see below for more details).

Skills for Health have launched a revised and updated Employability Skills Matrix (ESM) to help both employers and individuals working across the UK healthcare sector to identify the personal skills, qualities, values, attributes and behaviors needed to improve the delivery of care.
The Matrix is a practical tool that will assist employers and commissioners to define the employability skills in addition to clinical excellence, where relevant, required by staff working at different career levels (from Levels 1 to 9) and in different roles across the healthcare sector. From an individual employee point of view, ESM can help staff at all levels to identify employability skills and knowledge “gaps”, direct them to the most relevant source of information and advice about development and training , contribute to the staff review process and maintain motivation to stay in the sector.
The ESM will also assist employers to ‘grow their own’ staff within the sector and reduce high levels of attrition, as well as assist in identifying access points to employment across the health sector as a whole. This focus on employability skills will enable organisations to develop a “value set” that will result in:
