{"id":9092,"date":"2019-02-06T12:49:22","date_gmt":"2019-02-06T12:49:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stockportccg.nhs.uk\/practicehub\/?p=9092"},"modified":"2019-02-06T13:06:22","modified_gmt":"2019-02-06T13:06:22","slug":"stockport-apprentice-blazing-his-own-career-trail-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stockportpracticehub.co.uk\/practicehub\/practice-news\/stockport-apprentice-blazing-his-own-career-trail-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Stockport apprentice blazing his own career trail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A young apprentice, at a GP practice in Stockport, has been chosen as one of the faces of a UK wide campaign aimed at changing the nation\u2019s view of apprenticeships.<\/p>\n<p>Neil Williams, an apprentice at Alvanley Family Practice, has been working with the Department of Education on their 2019 campaign and will soon be appearing on adverts around the country.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cFire It Up\u201d campaign wants to inspire employers to offer apprenticeships and young people to take up all the amazing opportunities available.<\/p>\n<p>Thousands of organisations around the country already employ apprentices but many still don\u2019t understand the benefits it will bring to their businesses.<\/p>\n<p>And many young people don\u2019t appreciate the doors an apprenticeship will open for them with almost 9 out of 10 continuing in employment after their apprenticeship ends.
