NHS Stockport CCG provides a free interpretation service for all medical appointments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stockportccg.nhs.uk\/staffhub\/download\/479\/\">Interpretation and Translation Policy<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Foreign Language Interpretation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Foreign Language Interpretation can be provided over the phone by The Big Word.\u00a0 All calls are free from landlines.\u00a0 A two-way handset can be used if you do not wish to use speakerphone<\/li>\n<li>Call: <strong>03333 44 94 73\u00a0 &#8211; <\/strong>Enter your Practice\u2019s access code followed by hash: xxxxxxxx # then the code of the language you want (see numbers below).<\/li>\n<li>CCG reception (0161 426 9900) and Stockport Interpreting Unit (0161 477 9000) have a list of Practice codes if required.<\/li>\n<li>For sensitive appointments you can book a Face-to-Face Foreign Language Interpreter through Stockport Interpreting Unit.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the NHS Stockport CCG Request Form for Interpreting and email it to <a href=\"mailto:siu.bookings@stockport.gov.uk\">siu.bookings@stockport.gov.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>British Sign Language (BSL) Interpretation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>British Sign Language Interpretation will be provided for any primary care medical appointments by Stockport Interpreting Unit.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the Request Form for BSL (below) and email it to <a href=\"mailto:siu.bookings@stockport.gov.uk\">siu.bookings@stockport.gov.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>For IMMEDIATE ACCESS to a signer, GP Practices can skype from your computer using SignVideo.
