It takes on average 8.5 years for these patients to be diagnosed, a large proportion of this is within primary care. This study session aims to improve your awareness and knowledge by covering the signs and symptoms associated with the condition and give you the confidence to know when it is suitable to refer to rheumatology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Course Content<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This course will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What is Axial Spondyloarthritis?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are the signs and symptoms?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When to refer to Rheumatology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigations at primary care level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clinical case studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the session, you will understand:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What the signs and symptoms of Axial Spondyloarthritis are.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Know when to refer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Know what investigations need to be done at primary care level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Course Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trainer\/Facilitator&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>James Holland First contact physiotherapist &amp; NASS Champion in Primary Care and Dr Alma Hatley, GP ST3<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>James is currently involved in a 2-year quality improvement project working alongside NASS, a charity specific to Axial Spondyloarthritis with the aim to reduce the delay to diagnosis of this condition by improving the knowledge of primary care clinicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Date\/Time\/Venue<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be confirmed.
