{"id":21714,"date":"2023-06-12T15:43:41","date_gmt":"2023-06-12T14:43:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stockportpracticehub.co.uk\/practicehub\/?page_id=21714"},"modified":"2026-01-29T10:45:17","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T10:45:17","slug":"menopause-update","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.stockportpracticehub.co.uk\/practicehub\/menopause-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Menopause Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Target Audience\/Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These remote sessions are suitable for all registered Health Care Professionals, who provide menopause care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Content<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sessions will cover (<strong>pick and mix and there is no need to attend all of them)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Session 1:- Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) and Genito-Urinary Syndrome of Menopause<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Diagnosis and implications of POI as well as investigations needed and recommended treatment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Session 2:- Bleeding on HRT and Other Side Effects<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Discussion regarding the new British Menopause Society guidelines on problematic bleeding on HRT: when to investigate and what to do.<\/li>\n<li>Other common side effects of HRT and things that can be done to manage or help with these such as migraines, mood changes etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Session 3:- Complementary and Alternative Therapies and Common Referrals<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Complementary and alternative therapies to conventional HRT that patients can use to alleviate menopause symptoms. Including cautions and evidence base behind some of the most common<\/li>\n<li>Common referral reasons to the menopause clinic including family history of breast cancer, thrombosis risk and migraines. Using real cases to discuss how these can be managed and the rationale behind this as well as the conversations with patients<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">Course Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>45-minutes per session<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trainer\/Facilitator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Madeleine Crow and Nabanita Ghosh, Locala Community Partnership CIC<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date\/Time\/Venue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>This session will be carried out via a video conferencing platform, delegates will need a computer or smart phone to join, where possible they are encouraged to use a web camera to fully participate.
