All delegates should be competent to perform vaginal examinations prior to attending this training.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Aim<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The course aims to provide delegates with the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to enable them to change Ring, Shelf &amp; Gelhorn Pessaries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Upon successful completion of this course delegates will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take a history of symptoms such as abnormal bleeding<\/li>\n<li>Describe the pelvic floor anatomy and physiology<\/li>\n<li>Recognise the symptoms of and diagnose a prolapse<\/li>\n<li>Discuss the treatments options available for dealing with a prolapse<\/li>\n<li>Discuss the range of Pessaries available<\/li>\n<li>Remove and insert a Pessary in a model pelvis.<\/li>\n<li>Assess to detect complications and their management<\/li>\n<li>Understand when patients should be referred for further assessment.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss pessaries for stress incontinence with a Specialist Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Course Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 hours<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trainer\/Facilitator <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr Kapilmeet Kaur and Dr Shivani Batra, Consultant Obstetrics &amp; Gynecologists with special interest in Urogynaecology, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, Felicity Nicholson, Specialist Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and Leah Hilton, Specialist Nurse, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date\/Time\/Venue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be confirmed.
