This training is suitable for General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Assistant Practitioners and Health Care Assistants.<\/p>\n

Course Aim\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

This session aims to raise awareness of the importance of the annual health check for people with a learning disability.\u00a0 The implementation of annual health checks for people with learning disabilities in England has been repeatedly recommended as one component of health policy responses to the poorer health of people with learning disabilities.\u00a0 This session will highlight the underlying rationale for the use of annual checks including support to understand what a learning disability is, how to provide reasonable adjustments and understand the obligations of the Mental Capacity Act and Accessible Information Standard.<\/p>\n
