Upon successful completion delegates will be equipped with the underlining theory and skills to gain competence under clinical supervision of a practitioner in their own practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Content:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The content of this course is in-line with the National Minimum Standards for Health Care Assistants.\u00a0 The course will include:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Role of the Health Care Worker and overview of the HCA national minimum standards.\u00a0 Introduction to the Care Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to the Care Certificate and Higher Development Award<\/li>\n<li>Personal development.\u00a0 6 C\u2019s. Reflective practice<\/li>\n<li>Effective communication and customer service<\/li>\n<li>Person centred care and support<\/li>\n<li>Duty of care<\/li>\n<li>Defensible documentation and record keeping<\/li>\n<li>Delegation, accounta<\/li>\n<li>Costbility and consent<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of health promotion \/ Health Chat<\/li>\n<li>Blood pressure monitoring and normal values<\/li>\n<li>Understanding and reading temperatures<\/li>\n<li>The pulse and respiration. Monitoring and normal values<\/li>\n<li>Measuring oxygen saturation<\/li>\n<li>Understanding urinalysis and obtaining an MSSU<\/li>\n<li>Infection prevention and control and hand washing technique overview<\/li>\n<li>Obtaining a capillary blood sample to check for blood glucose levels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Course Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 days (plus venepuncture 1 day course)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trainer\/Facilitator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jacqui Doherty, Advanced Clinical Practitioner<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date\/Time\/Venue <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be confirmed.
