{"id":12503,"date":"2020-07-06T11:45:03","date_gmt":"2020-07-06T10:45:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stockportccg.nhs.uk\/practicehub\/?page_id=12503"},"modified":"2025-04-24T09:45:39","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T08:45:39","slug":"aseptic-non-touch-technique-antt-e-learning","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.stockportpracticehub.co.uk\/practicehub\/learning-and-development-portfolio\/aseptic-non-touch-technique-antt-e-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"Aseptic Non Touch Technique (ANTT) (e-learning)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid vc_custom_1585223103967 vc_row-has-fill\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p><strong>Target Audience\/Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This training is designed for clinical and non-clinical staff that undertake invasive procedures such as minor operations, wound dressing and venepuncture.\u00a0 It is essential that a minimum of one person per practice completes this e-learning, all other such staff would receive cascaded training and internal practice assessment (from the individual who has undertaken the e-learning and received external assessment).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Aim<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This e-learning teaches healthcare workers how to apply the ANTT Clinical Practice Framework to clinical practice using the ANTT-Approach.\u00a0 The e-learning should be followed by an assessment \u2013 see additional information below.<\/p>\n<p>This training is in line with The Health &amp; Social Care Act 2008 Code of practice on the prevention and control of infections that requires staff who undertake procedures, which require skills such as aseptic non-touch technique, are trained and required to demonstrate proficiency before being allowed to undertake these procedures independently.\u00a0 Please note that ANTT is only part of the annual infection prevention audits for practices.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Upon successful completion of this course delegates will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrate the application of effective aseptic technique with ANTT<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate safe aseptic technique for complex and simple invasive procedures including the maintenance of invasive medical devices<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the universal clinical practice language for ANTT including:\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrate the Principles and Safeguards of ANTT<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the fundamental concept of Key-Part and Key-Site protection<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the explicit aim of aseptic technique<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate advanced and flexible aseptic field management<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate Surgical-ANTT and Standard-ANTT<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate conventional and advanced non touch technique, and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Be able to apply the ANTT-Approach to any clinical practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>50 minutes (for the e-learning) plus assessment<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trainer\/Facilitator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ANTT On-line Training<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date\/Time\/Venue<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is e-learning so it can be undertaken at any time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The cost of this e-learning is payable by the practice and is \u00a319 per delegate, the Greater Manchester ICB do not fund this training.\u00a0Only one person per practice is required to complete this training, all other staff will be assessed internally within the practice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Booking Process\/Additional Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To access this training please follow this &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.antt-training.com\/content\/store\/productinfo.jsp?category=&amp;productid=739\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Link<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>One member of staff from the practice can be nominated to assess all staff. This individual does not need to be a qualified assessor.\u00a0 The individual needs to complete the e-learning and then arrange to be assessed by Sarah Turner\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"mailto:sarah.l.turner@stockport.gov.uk\">sarah.l.turner@stockport.gov.uk<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 Sarah will come to the practice to assess that member of staff, who can then cascade the learning and undertake an assessment of the other staff as required.<\/li>\n<li>All members of staff who undertake invasive procedures such as minor ops, wound dressing and venepuncture <u>must receive cascaded training and undertake an assessment<\/u>.\u00a0 Evidence of completion will be required for<br \/>\ninfection prevention audits.<\/li>\n<li>Please see the following flowchart for more information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"vc_separator wpb_content_element vc_separator_align_center vc_sep_width_60 vc_sep_pos_align_center vc_separator_no_text vc_sep_color_grey\" ><span class=\"vc_sep_holder vc_sep_holder_l\"><span  class=\"vc_sep_line\"><\/span><\/span><span class=\"vc_sep_holder vc_sep_holder_r\"><span  class=\"vc_sep_line\"><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid vc_custom_1585223856142 vc_row-has-fill\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p><strong>Step 1 Training<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete online training (practice to pay for one clinical individual to be trained)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.antt-training.com\/content\/store\/store.jsp?category=ANTT%20modules\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.antt-training.com\/content\/store\/store.jsp?category=ANTT%20modules<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>The practice designates who is to be trained (this could be a GP or a Nurse, they do not need to be a qualified assessor)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Step 2 Evidence<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Send evidence of completed training to Health Protection &amp; Control of Infection Unit (FAX 0161 474 4369).<\/li>\n<li>Make arrangements with the Health Protection Unit for a Health Protection Nurse to visit to assess competence (0161 474 2440)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Step 3 Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a practical assessment, once the assessment has taken place and all standards achieved a certificate of competence and the ANTT policy for Primary Care will be issued by the Health Protection Team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Step 4 Cascade Training<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The trained and assessed individual is then responsible for training and assessing all staff within the practice who undertake clinical procedures. A record MUST be kept in the practice.
